The Certification Center is staffed by a team of dedicated, highly skilled professionals whose mission is to oversee all our certification activities. Certification Center analysts are experts in the use of Sterling Commerce solutions and in compliance and interoperability testing procedures.
Operating independently of the product-development lifecycle processes, they focus on:
- Testing compliance of software to published standards
- Testing interoperability between Sterling Commerce offerings
- Testing interoperability between Sterling Commerce solutions and those of other vendors
- Interacting with independent testing labs for certification processes
- Creating repeatable processes for recurring test cycles
- Designing automation for certification testing
- Providing compliance reporting and feedback for the internal product management life cycle
Throughout the year, our Certification Center team is engaged in testing new solution releases, with simultaneous testing of multiple existing solutions as the norm. At present, certification activities cover a wide range of processes and technologies that are key to collaborating with business partners, customers, and suppliers, including :
- Internet data exchange (EDIINT)
- SWIFT messaging services for financial service providers
- FIPS certification of cryptographic features
- Security features and overall solution security based on Common Criteria specifications
- Global data synchronization for retail supply chains
- ebXML Message Service
As new standards emerge, our Certification Center is prepared to take the lead in early validation of compliance and interoperability. Even as our products are being readied for market, the Certification Center performs early validation of capabilities, such as AS3, that will be vital to our customers’ collaboration networks.
